Hello,
I just finished working on the driver side rear window regulator in my '04 XC90. The top cable - which appears to raise the window - had jumped the upper pulley and the slack had fouled on the motor reel. I unwound the cable off the reel and got it back on the pulley but now the lower cable is slack. Is there a way to adjust the cable tension or do I just need to break down and buy a new regulator?

I just had the same exact problem, same window, same model and year, within 2 months of this gentleman's post. What gives? I have the door panel removed and the cable pulled out. can this be fixed? Or does the regulator need to be replaced? any help is welcomed. Thank you.

If you need one, I located a place in CA that sells Volvo parts really reasonable. They have the window regulator/motor setups for $100. They take in "totaled" volvos and deconstruct them. The place is called Volvo and Saab Dismantlers. 800-700-VOLVO. Have ordered multiple things from them including door panels, stereo amps (of which the first did not work and they sent a replacement the same day) and many other items trying to keep my 12 year old XC90 running. Great Shop.
