98 S70 - P0500 code

Post by shegarty »

Hi all - I've been seeing the P0500 code (speed sensor A) on my 98 S70 for a while now but it only seems to come up when I really tromp the throttle and reach over 5000 revs in 4th gear. If I clear the code it will not come back again until the next time I really get into the throttle. From what I have read the failure of this sensor can lead to failure of the transmission to shift properly and resort to a limp home mode condition. I have also noticed that when cold there is a delayed shift from 2nd to 3rd - is this related to the same condition? Also, is this the right replacement sensor on the iPd website?
