Speed Sensors / P0173 / Boost Leak... ideas?

So I've made threads before about my P0173 code and got some insight that usually the tranny is dead.. My problem is not shifting or issues, but with the torque converter unlocking at random when im at highway speeds and then it relocks itself. If it does it enough, i get a P0173 code. I have been driving the car ever since in the "3" location on the shifter, and have had no problems, even when i put it in drive, the torque converter is always smooth to lock and unlock, it just doesn't stay locked. I never have had any problems with reverse like many people i have read about with the 0173 code.

I came across this part while googling on a random thought about speed sensors and was surprised to see this;

"Part Number: 843-01058736
Notes: Though Volvo calls this a "Engine Speed Sensor", it is used to control Torque Converter Lockup and other Transmission functions only."

I also have a boost leak that's slowly getting worst, could this be related?


on a side note. just yesterday the car didn't want to shift two times out of 2nd gear i believe, it never shifts rough or hard, it just seemed like it wouldn't even try to shift. just kept going up on RPM's and it was around 40-50mph - I'm hoping these tranny issues can be related to that sensor maybe.. what are all your thoughts?
