2004 xc 70 Dense white smoke

My 2004 xc 70 began to blow dense white smoke. The engine is not misfiring or shaking and the plugs all look good. I think it may be a turbo problem but know little about that unit. Also, the car runs ok notwithstanding the smoke screen like situation. Any suggestions or familiarity with such a problem.
