2005 xc70 question on fluids

Post by mrscullini »

going to drain & fill the bevel gear and rear diff. the rear diff calls for straight 80w, seems to be hard to find at the local parts store. can i use the same 75/90 as the bevel gear? plan to use high quality syn oil.

on the ps, calls for pentosin, is there a readily available equivalent? also, i thought i read somewhere that the pentosin fluid is green in color. checking mine, the color seems to be typical ps fluid yellowish color.

Don't use 75w90, buy Volvo OE oil for rear diff, it is slightly over $20 for 1 liter.

Pentosin CHF202. It is green, but color fades over time.

Any quality 75w90 is ok. I again don't see why not go with OE, because it is only $22 or so.
