Help! I'm doing a cylinder head job on my son's S60. I've got the upper portion of the head off and the intake cam lifted right out. For some reason the exhaust cam won't budge. I don't want to try to force it so I stopped until I got some advice on the topic. Any ideas?

On the rear end of the cam you should find a 6mm thread tapped. Place a bolt of good length say 4 inches into that thread.
You can now connect a rope or cable from the front cam pulley to the bolt.
A short sharp tap upwards on the bolt with a mallet and the same on the front cam pulley should dislodge the cam seal. Then just pull up evenly on the cable or rope. Try to keep the cam very horizontal during the lifting because the cam guides can be broken by angling the cam.
