2002 XC70 FUEL FILTER

Post by Stephen0523 »

Hi all. I have done some searching but have been unsuccessful for finding any videos or instruction on the location and replacing of the fuel filter for my 2002 Volvo XC 70.
Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Stephen :-)

On my v70 (2003) it's just in front of the rear wheel on the drivers side (RH drive)....mine just unscrewed like an oil filter...could be reached without jacking up the car and took about 2 minutes....but when I ordered the filter there were two types available so I bought both....did the job....then took the spare one back!

its not the same year but should be same location and procedure. This is one of those super simple jobs but I've had some lesson learned: Let car sit a while to release pressure, have a small catch pan ready to drop filter into and hold some of the gas that comes out, make sure filter is installed in correct direction and before cranking I turn to ignition to II and off a few times to prime the with gas (read that was a good idea and has worked well for me).

Thanks for the fast replies! I will have a look this weekend to see where it is. I don't recall ever being changed in the cars approaching 200,000 km.
