steering wheel module (swm)

just bought a 06 xc70 and turn signals and steering wheel buttons are not working.

Everything I've read points to SWM. Is that the same item as the actual turn signal Lever/handle or a relay/switch plugged into CEM?

An image would be beyond helpful. Thanks everyone!
