After reading up on all I could find I decided the only thing left to do is pull the cap and replace the seal (and cap).
Was I ever surprised when I discovered that the seal was gone! In place of the seal was some black goo below the end of the cam, no brass pieces or shavings. I cleaned it all out and replaced the missing seal and cap. The leak is gone!
I guess the pieces eventually got caught in the filter. Just wanted to say that I've never seen anything like it! And I'm really glad it was the rear of the intake cam. Just about the easiest access of anything on the engine. Took all of 25 minutes start to finish.
