2005 V70 radio query

When we had 850s, we had to keep track of a four-digit anti-theft code to enter into the radio when the battery was disconnected. We recently bought a used V70 and an S60; don't seem to have had codes given to us by the dealer. Are codes no longer used?

Radios in 2001 and newer Volvo's don't require a code.
