1994 volvo 940 temp gauge/dash dead.

1994 volvo 940--- temp gauge was acting up then it was dead. doesnt register anything anymore. Is there a simple solution to fix this, or does i require tearing into the dash

Check the temperature sender?

where is the temperature sensor located in the engine. I cant seem to find it.

On the cylinder head just below the intake manifold. Forward sensor is for gauge, rear is for engine temp to ECU.
