I have a 2004 S80 and I was shocked at the cost of new windshield wiper blades, so I found a way to use a $6.00 set of refills and install them into the old blades.
Buy a set of standard width wiper refills 24 inches long.
Take the old wiper blades off the car.
Pull off the the end caps from one of the blades. (make a note which end the caps come from) It may help to wiggle them a little as you pull since they are a press fit with some adhesive. You now have a blade consisting of the center mount, two metal spines, and the rubber wiper between the spines. Slide the rubber out from between the spines. You can pull open the space between the spines on one end to help reduce the force needed, and work the old rubber out.
Remove the spines that came with the refill and slide it in between the spines on the wiper blade. Put back the end caps with a little RTV and you are done.
One of the blades is only 22 inches long so you need to cut that one to the proper length. You can do it right before you put the caps on.
