2004 s60 R "Anti-Skid Service Required"

Last week I took off from a stop sign and wound up the engine, when I shifted into 2nd gear I heard a clunk from what I think came from the front of the car. I am thinking possibly the transfer car. Immediately after, the message screen read "anti-skid service required", and I lost all drive. If I restart the car, the message is gone and the car will move briefly before the light comes back on, and all drive is lost. It is almost like a slipping clutch. And the rear wheels are the only drive wheels, instead of front wheels being primary drive.

Anyone had this problem, or have any ideas of what the problem is?

Sounds like you may have a loose axle, fix IMMEDIATELY and do not continue to drive it

Jim has probably saved you a lot of money if you followed that advice.

Tow, do not drive, to shop or home to replace axle shaft. Do not let wheels turn under load. Flat bed trailer.

The ABs doesn't self test until the car reaches a low speed , then burps, ergo the reappearing light after startup.
