1999 V70-XC AWD loose hose from canister L/front wheel

Post by Sharkzz »

G'day, after getting the wagon back from Uladulla Toyota for major repairs and clean (WARNING - NEVER GO TO ULLADULLA TOYOTA YOUR CAR WILL HAVE MORE ! PROBLEMS ) and paying over 6 grand for the work, I have found a loose hose which I traced back to a canister under the front passenger side fender next to the left front wheel, I have NO idea where the un attached end goes and I can't find any references anywhere. There are more hoses coming from this unit as well. it's difficult for me to get under and have a good look around as I don't have ramps or a high rise jack, I am also getting loudish exhaust noise and exhaust smell in through the wagon which I feel maybe the manifold gasket, but I am not sure. ANY pointers in the right direction would be very, very appreciated. and where can I buy cheap tail gate lifter struts as mine have dies and my wife is forcing me to sell the car but I can't till it is rego'd and it won't sell until I fix the problems ....... and I like my wagon...
thanks.

The cannister is the EVAP Charcoal system. You probably have a check engine light on and an EVAP Emissions code. One of the lines runs up the side of the radiator to an inline plastic filter element.
