2008 V70 FOB receiver not working after time

Post by thomlep »

Hello,

We have a strange problem. I found a similar problem on the forum for S80 but there was no resolution.
Our FOB will not unlock the car after a short period of time. After driving the car, we can lock and unlock successfully using the FOB, but after an hour or so the receiver refuses to receive the FOB signal, or does not like the FOB signal. At about the same time, we're getting low tire pressure signal, even after correcting the tire pressure.

It's not the FOB battery.

Thanks for any advise !

RRX or RKE if it is keyless drive system is the likely culprit. It is the receiver for remote radio broadcast and also the receiver fro radio signals from TPM sensors. The car age can mean the sensors are bad as the batteries do age out in the sensors requiring their replacement.

Most tire stores can check sensors for their ability to broadcast signal to eliminate that as cause of the TPMS part of problem.

Thanks Jimmy, Where is the receiver located? and is this a DIY fix for a novice mechanic?

Well, I double checked the tire inflation and added air to one of the tires. By gosh, the whole problem of the FOB receiver went away. It's as if the car was punishing us for having an under-inflated tire. Now happy wife and happy life.
