in January or February I had a catastrophic loss of freon due to a hose rupturing. I replaced the hose and the drier. Yesterday, I had the system vacuumed and charged. Vacuum held. However, the compressor does not come on. It was working prior to the hose rupture and I unplugged the electrical connections to the compressor at that time. Any ideas? Thanks everyone.

How long was the system open to sit post hose rupture? A day is ok, if it sat open it's likely that AC components have corroded and rusted. Did you add PAG oil ( full charge) when you recharged the system too?
