2000 S70 Replace Window motor

Post by HelpingJoe »

2000 s70 Drivers side window stuck in full down position. Motor shot. It is NOT the switches. Switches cleaned and checked. Replacement motor runs on old switches. Need to remove motor with window stuck down. There has to be a way.

I doubt your motor is shot.
Unplug it from the car and
provide voltage directly to
confirm.

If the motor is bad you will need to manually crank it up about half way, to a point where the retainer clips on the wheels that ride in the regulator are accessible through the holes in the inside door skin.

There is a torx head socket on the motor assembly and you can raise and lower the window with a torx bit chucked up in a drill. Usually the socket is covered with a paper sticker.

Thanks Lee. We know the motor is shot - tested it 6 ways to Sunday. Had read on another post about the torx head access to get window up but not smart enough to find it. Your reply is much much much appreciated. Thank you again for your reply.
