2005 S80 Where to find side marker harness?

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

2005 S80 Where to find side marker harness?

Post by misun »

I got into a fender bender that did some pretty bad damage to the front of my car, including knocking off part of the bumper and side marker. I can't pass my brake and light inspection without fixing the orange side marker on the driver's side bumper (not the one behind the wheel), which fell off completely along with the harness.

I did some research and calling around to Volvo dealerships and online parts stores, and it looks like I can't buy the harness (?) that the bulb and its socket clip into without buying the ENTIRE wiring system (!!). I'm talking about the part that has wires attached to one side and fits the bulb and the socket that the bulb fits into. It looks like it's all one piece with the bulb socket, but it's not.

I'm attaching a picture—a bit blurry—that shows what the entire thing looks like (bulb, socket, and harness). Anyone have suggestions for where to find just the harness?

Go to a junk yard or someone parting theirs out. Check what years are the same and buy the lens if needed and the required connector. Just solder the new used one in, heat sink and tape - or buy some weather proof crimps and be done. No sense buying new - just make sure the contacts are clean before install.

Hi Misun,

I have the same problem for a 2005 S80. Did you ever find the harness? Do you know the volvo part ID and/or where to find it online?

Thank you,
Daniel
