2000 V70XC Back of headlight switch

Greetings,

My wife reported last night that with the headlight switch in the on position, the headlights were turning themselves off even though the dashboard lights remained on. Good thing the sun is still setting late, around 8:35

So I pulled the existing switch to prepare myself for trekking over the junk yard and noticed that there is a white 3 position slider on the back, labeled 13.5 V 'C' 'A' 'B' DOT (see pics below).

What do these setting do to the switch's functionality and where should it be set for my 2000 V70 XC?

My switch is in position 'C.' On the IPD web site, their picture shows it in position 'A.'

Any thoughts?

I have about 5 or 6 of these switches and 5 of them are set to 'B' which is for day-time running lights I believe. The other one is set to 'A' but this is possibly from a US car, as the switch is different to the normal one in Canada which does not have the little adjustment screw on the lower front RH face of the switch. I again believe this is for non-daytime running light setting. Don't know what 'C' is for.

Check the database on MVS as it has come up before in discussion.

Also, these cars had a recall for headlight switches. Check if yours was recalled.

In US cars, the screw pot changes the switch setting in back.

Since DRLs are mandatory in Canada, the screw option is removed.
