2001 Volvo V70 Unlocking fuel filler door & back hatch

I have issues with the central locking system on my 2001 Volvo V70. Until they are resolved, can anyone tell me how to unlock the fuel filler door and back hatch? Good grief! I can't believe Volvo didn't make provisions for this sort of thing.

As I recall, the fuel filler door and back hatch lock are powered through the same fuse on the REM. When my tailgate wiring started shorting/failing within the LH hatch hinge cavity, it would blow the fuse and then I wouldn't be able to open the fuel door. You might try crawling back and removing the LH panel over the REM and see if you have a blown fuse - sorry I don't recall the fuse number. A new fuse might buy you one opportunity to open the fuel door before it blows again.
