1999 Volvo S70 headlight switch

Post by asummers »

Does anyone have a diagram of how the headlight switch is removed from the dash? Or, give a play by play on the removal. Trying to figure out if it is a simple process to remove or not. I am removing one from a parts car on my lunch hour and don't have access to my Vadis program here at work, and haven't removed the broken one from my car. It is great fun when you start to leave for work and turn on your headlights and the switch literally comes off in your hand. The whole front half of the switch came off, pieces and spring hit the floor!

If you access from behind (knee trim piece removed using Torx screwdriver), then push the switch out from behind.

Another technique is a tiny flat screwdriver, wrap it in some cloth and pry the switch out from the front.

Just look at the existing HL switch and you will see the tabs that hold it in the dash.
