1994 850 Tethy Wheel Swap Advice

I have an opportunity to get a set of 17 inch Tethy wheels with 235/45/17 Eagles for upgrading the original Argo 15s on my 850 wagon showing 96K miles with new Gabriel ReadyMount struts and rear shocks. Has anyone had personal experience with this combination regarding fit? I have seen conflicting advice on wheel swaps on the 850 base. Can anything bigger than a 215 tread width fit with this wheel on the 850? Any help would be much appreciated. I will continue to use the Argos for winter. Thanks.

I rub with 205/50R17 using 17x7 interceptor during full left or full right turn.

And that 235/45/17 is just a hair taller, and a full 1.2 inches wider, than a 205/50/17.

Nope...235 anything will not fit 850 or s,v70.

245/40/R18 came with my parts car.

The car is on stock springs, there is no wheel liners at any corner.

If you remove inner fenders and stretch outer ones a bit,maybe 255 or 265 would fit.
