2007 s60t cricket-like whistling noise, when contact is on

there is a somewhat loud noise coming from the car when is contact is on, engine running or not. behind the front driver's side headlight. if anyone is aware of what it is or what to do. (see picture)
car has 86000km on it. the module also gets very hot pretty fast, that is even when the engine isnt turned on.

That is your brake booster auxiliary vacuum pump. The switch is to the right of your red highlight circle in photo. It has the brown two wire connector plugged onto it. The vacuum pump should run only when vacuum is low. Usually after engine has run from cold for a minute the pump will no longer be needed. Hose leaks between that switch and the brake booster, or leaks at the booster, or a leaking booster can make it run continuously. Faulty switch can cause it also. Sometimes the switch comes apart but in the photo yours looks to be intact.
