98 V70R Using KYB FWD Struts on my R

Post by mt98t5 »

I was hoping someone could answer my question about using KYB FWD struts on my 98 V70 R. Is this possible? I plan on reusing my springs and buying everything else new. I've read that using Koni Yellow struts is the way to go but I am trying to save a little money.

Bilstein Touring are $113. How much cheaper are the KYB's?

I took a pair of Bilstein HD's off my 2000 V70R as they made my teeth rattle they are so hard!

Replaced with a set of Bilstein Tourings. Much nicer. Spoke to guys at IPD and their opinion was that HD's only work on a track and are too hard for general use (unless you have a cheap dentist!).

The KYB's are $62.79 each. My main question is about using FWD Struts on an AWD with Nivomat rear shocks. Is this possible?

I hate to revive such an old thread but I was wondering if someone could give me a PN for the KYB struts (Ft) and shocks (Rear) for a 1998 V70R? I've searched and for some reason no one lists shocks/struts for V70R or V70 AWD older than 2002. Does 1998-2001 share the same PNs as the 2002+?
