Hey guys,
I've been having some startup issues with my '93 240. In the morning, when I first start the car up, it fires up fine. After that however, I start to have problems. There's a 50% chance the car will stall out after a few revolutions of the engine. During this time, the mixture is definitely off (rich), and RPM is significantly low. If I throttle up with the accelerator, the car runs fine until I let it come back down to idle. It's almost as if the idle misses, and the car stalls out. Eventually, after a few minutes of doing this, the car will "catch" itself on the way down, chug a couple times (shaking the whole car), and then idle back up to normal. After that, the car runs totally fine.
I'd appreciate any insight you might have into this issue.
Also, I'm sorry if this is the second time you're reading this. I posted in another website's forum earlier, but a buddy of mine pointed me to this forum. He said it's a lot more active, and knowledgeable.
Thanks y'all. I look forward to hearing from you.

If you keep the accelerator pedal depressed, does the car run fine? If so, the problem might be related to the idle air control valve near the throttle body on the intake manifold.

Maybe there are diagnostic trouble codes?
