2001 Volvo V70X/C driver door power problem

Post by Delores »

Hi there, I just bought a 2001 Volvo V70XC and all of the locks were working fine. Now since yesterday none of the switches on the driver side door work ..Unlock and lock..mirror adjustment and windows..nothings works...I am also unable to unlock all of the doors from the driver sides with the key..The key will only unlock and lock the driver side door.I have tried to lock and unlock with both of the keys I have . I almost seems like that there is no power going to the driver side door..I also would need to know how to erase the check engine light.Husband was working on the AC and triggered the check engine light.. Thanks for your Help

For the door, I would look closer to the electrical harness that goes in the door, midway between the hinges.

Are you positive it's the check engine light that was triggered? If so, it should go away by itself.

I wonder if it's rather the SRS message plus an yellow triangle that went off. In which case a trip to the Volvo $$ dealer is needed, or someone with a Vida device can also clear the code.

When working on electrical, have the ignition key in position II (low beams on) then disconnect the red terminal at the trunk battery. Same key position when reconnecting back the battery.

Thanks Oragex....I think we fixed the problem...at least for right now...We disconnected the battery-cable for about 30 minutes and connected it again , after that the check engine light went out and all of the switches on the drivers door started to work again. I even can lock and unlock all of the doors from the drivers door with the key again..Yeah....Now the next step is to buy a keyless entry remote, since the car did not came with one..

Thanks again for your help
