Should I be able to frankenstein these two V70s together?

Blown engine, but good body:

Damaged body, good engine/tranny:

What questions should I ask the owners to be [relatively] sure I can pull the engine tranny from the black donor car and drop it in the silver car?

Thanks,

Rick

To roughly answer your first question, you could. Here is the but, Car A is all wheel drive and a turbo, Car B is front wheel drive and no turbo. You would have to change wiring harness, computers, exhaust, and pull the rear drive shaft to make it work.

NO
Transmissions are different and probably the engines (turbo vs a non turbo)

You'd want a 2.4 LPT Turbo engine to fix the first car.

Skip the second car.

It's technically possible but in reality a total nightmare to Frankenstein those two together, not worth the trouble.

I would personally stay away from AWD 98s, also not worth the trouble any more IMHO.

Why don't you replace head lamp, side lamp & bumper on running one?

Looks pretty good.

+1 to Misha. New fender should be $50 in a junkyard if you can find one in the same paint color. Otherwise, whatever for the part plus $150-$200 to paint. The bumper cover you'll want to find in a junkyard -- it is a $600 ish part from Volco (but comes painted to match the car). Headlamp you would want to find in a junkyard since they are a couple hundred bucks from Volvo, side marker light is also junkyard fodder. With luck on the paint match and junkyard parts you could have the whole shooting match for $750, plus bumper cover ($100)(less near me, more if you have to paint it); $30 for headlamp; $25 for side marker, $50 for fender -- $955 all in with some luck finding the right color parts, plus taxes, tags & title, more if you can't find color-matching parts in a yard or from a private seller (more expensive).

"Why don't you replace head lamp, side lamp & bumper on running one? "

This is looking like the best option. Thanks!

When i got a closer look...it seems that passenger's side wheel is moved a little towards the door.Check for suspension parts or axle damage.Looks like something is bent there.
