2001 S60 T5 Rough idle no codes.

Post by KSUMMEY »

I see lots of post on ETM issues causing a world of issues at all different RPM ranges. I have an issue with my car only having a crazy idle. It runs like a car with a huge lopy cam 500-900 rpm. The car shakes in gear like your head bobbing to music its same in park. My concern with it is I have no codes. Just off idle the cars a dream to drive. No surging no stalling no drop in rpm when slowing down to a stop its idle only. I replaced the spark plugs recently with no changes. I have cleaned the ETM but it really wasn't dirty . My ETM part number is 8644347. I have performed an ETM test in VIDA the sensor max variance is 1.79 so its well in specification. If I had ETM codes it be a no brainer to just replace it but I hate to replace it and that not fix it. The only other concern I have noticed to speak of is the car First thing in the morning is a little slow to want to accelerate like its not building boost after the first shift it drives normal. THe 2 concerns may not be related Any suggestions?
I average 27.2 MPG driving.

If it makes any difference I am running a complete drive train from a 2002 2.4T S60 but I did swap over all sensors injectors and turbo from theT5 car I know injectors and many other sensors are different.

MAF sensor is above 14 at idle.
Short term fuel 1-3 at idle
long term at lower rpm range is 2 max
long term at upper rpm range 2 max

Tried, tune up, cleaned ETM and Mass air flow sensor.. Verified correct cam timing Performed ETM relearn a few times.

So after lots of tinkering I finally come up with solutions of the car that fixed it. The engine is from a 2002 I swapped or so I thought I swapped everything. The aperture from a 2001 to a 2002, it clocked different so the car saw the cam timing as correct but the reality of it was it was off. Hope it helpes someone.
