1996 855 cant read obd ?

Hi guys, i recently bought a 855 t5 and when i wanted just to check how obd1 is working when i want to read codes, i couldnt find a way to do it because the LED is not reacting when i press the button....what do you think it might be a problem ? Is it common thing?

Do you have an OBDII port under the coin tray?

If you do, then check out the tools and code readers forum, to see if you can't fashion your own OBD 1 blinky thing to use on that one instead. Your car is probably like mine, an M4.3, and they just pretend to have OBDII, for all intents and purposes...

I dont know what to think, mine wagon is 2.0turbo italian version. Is it possible to find out about OBD by checking VIN number? And if yes, how?

Found a "problem"

I checked VIN number and it was 2.5 10v stock so it was obd1 once and my engine is 2.0 turbo now, so, someone swaped engines in the past but did not swap under ashtray parts so i assume that there is an OBD2 connector under the plastic or should i follow some wires to check that?

Ah, that would make sense. Sounds to me like someone didn't connect everything properly.

All vehicles in the U.S. 1996 and newer should be equipped with OBD-II.

Yes, but, car works, it was dynoed and it has 240hp with NA cams and remap and i drive it everyday so no problems for now, and also, it has LPG system whick works perfectly....just, now i have to find that Bond 007 obd connector

Cant find obd connector....in the ecu box i have only one ECU and i dont know what ecu type is it...? How to read and understand ecu numbers?

From late '95 and on ALL these cars are obdII.
'95 have both since it's transitional year.Obd I under the hood and ObdII port under the coin holder in the cabin.
These cars (850)are made from '91-'97.
Since you don't have obdII port under the coin holder....your car is in best case '94.

My engine is italian 2.0 turbo and chassis is 96 by the VIN
So i have b5204T from 93?
