2004 Volvo S60R Removing torque limit?

Hey guys,

So I found that the S60R is torque-limited on the Geartronic autos for '04 - '05, and I'm finding mixed solutions for a way to remedy it. I know that you can send out the ECM for a specific tune of your choice for ~$700 that will have it programmed out. However, I have also heard that Volvo dealers / repair centers can not only upgrade the software in the ECM, but also remove the torque limits on the unit. I called a dealer today, and was told that they cannot program it out.

Is this a fallacy, or do the dealerships need a bit of greasing to do it for you? I'm not yet at Stage 0, so I'd rather hold off on the tune and do some other stuff, but in the meantime have a little bit of fun.

No. The dealership can up the speed limiter from the 130mph it was set at to the 155mph is should be. You need a tune to get rid of the torque limiter.
