2007- S80 rear camber +1 degree rear upper control arms

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

2007- S80 rear camber +1 degree rear upper control arms

Post by dodenhoff »

Tire wear on inside rear tires/tyres unacceptable to me...how about you?

The fix is well documented by Volvo and forums for the C70/V50/Ford Mazda but my dealer and independent swear there's a volvo part number they've installed on previous customers cars, but just can't remember the PN nor have records. Dealer called Volvo and was told in 2013 the PN changed so that'd probably be the service solution to stand the tire up another degree to be within spec for rear camber. Part came in, bolt holes identical distance! Returned to dealer. Losing Love for volvo at this point.

Has anyone you know successfully modified, fabricated or used another part number to move from -2 degrees to -1 degree rear camber?

I've ordered adjustable rear upper control arms (Detroit axle) for V50 in hopes of adjusting out to make the longer reach and getting my ride off of jack stands and back on the road!

Note: if you happen to buy a car with loud noise coming from rear, don't purchase wheel bearings before noticing the tires are cupped so bad you could serve tea for 15 people! At 120,000 miles I replaced wheel bearings/hubs anyway as preventative measure.

I'll report my success or failure here so stay tuned unless you've got a better recommendation for my dilemma...

My 2007 S80 V8 is the same in the rear suspension. The cam adjusters on the inside lower swing arm are set to fully pull in the bottom of the wheel. Nothing left to adjust.
