2001 T5 S60 Maintenance schedule

Post by T5S60 »

Hi I am wondering if there is a good maintanance schedule for the S60 once it hits 100k+ miles.

I bought my car at 109k (currently at 160k) and am not sure if things like transmission fluid, timing belt, serpentine belt etc. where changed at the correct times.

My googling has not come up with anything yet and the owners manual seems to cut off around 100k.Any advice on a good resource for maintenance schedules?

The timing belt and tensioner were due at 105k miles. If not sure they've been replaced, remove the upper cover and inspect the belt - crank the engine a bit to see all the length of the belt. No need to replace the water pump.

It's a good moment to release the tension on the serpentine belt and inspect by hand all the pulleys, tensioner, alternator, A/C.

As for the transmission, good question. Supposing it's and automatic, 1-2 drain and flushes won't do harm, using the appropriate fluid (3309 type if it's a 5 speeds). By all means no garage 'flush'.

I would replace the spark plugs, fuel filter, and send the injectors for ultrasonic cleaning - $100 off Ebay.

A thermostat might be due if it was never replaced.
