Hello,
Where is the best place to have a vin number searched to tell me if my car is what it's suppose to be?
Called two dealers they can't tell me . I really believe it is but just want to check it out as far as features and such.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Yeah that doesn't really work it says the car is a auto when it's a 5 spd .

It's a 19 year old car, someone could have done the manual swap during those years.

I don't know, inputting my VIN claims I have a stick when in fact I have a slush. I would cry if I found someone made that swap...

RSPI if only it was that easy! Yep I suppose they could have done a swap but then my vin still would have had a 58 in it, and in all likelihood a m56 not the m59. I believe the car is what it is I'm just trying to figure out the vin it's kinda interesting. I was thinking someone on here would know where to get it searched/ read.
Thanks!

I have found this page put up by Volvo to be very accurate over the last several years, I am curious if it is for your car too?

Mine turns up as a factory 5spd. Neat! I'd always wondered about that - the previous few owners had been Volvo nerds too, so a swap isn't totally unlikely. I never dug deep enough into the wiring harness to know for sure.

The accuracy of that site has been called into question, but I think it's more likely you all just haven't got the transmissions you think you have. Tomorrow you'll sit down in your car and discover your pedal count is off by one.
