2004 c70 New to me car, had previously sat a lot

Post by jenkinskg »

So I bought the car, got a great deal and just getting all set for winter.
Tasks done so far, Need suggestions of anything else they would suggest
2004 c70 82k miles
1. Timing belt tensioner, and idler
2. FLushed coolant, the swapped over to Evan's waterless
3. New front struts
4. 5 speed auto Valve body, cured the bad downshift issues that full flush did not resolve, shifts 100% now
5. Flushed PS fluid with new, was a little noisy, unsure if wrong fluid was used before me

Car seems all good, was also looking to maybe scotch gaurd or waterproof top somehow

Magnifine filter on transmission line. Can't hurt.

If unsure about prior maintenance, I would change the brake fluid as well. And of course timing belt. And check age of tires, beyond ten years replace regardless of wear.

At 82Kmi, I would check the condition of the PCV system and service it if records are unavailable.
Fuel filter and a set of spark plugs are on the list as well. If/when you are doing the PCV or the T-Belt, you may want to replace the thermostat (while you are at it), and give all motor mounts (including the lower torque mount at the transmission) a good visual.
Example of Precision: Measure with a Micrometer, mark it with Chalk, and then cut it with an Axe.
Disclaimer: We (very) seldom do that
