2008 XC90 FWD Spare Tire

Deciding whether to replace the donut spare with full size. Do not know if the bay for storage will capable of handling a larger tire. Will adding this weight affect the car performance? Reasoning for considering is comments in owner manual using donut for short, slow driving only as well as mixing different size tires.

I looked into doing a full size and came to the conclusion that it won't fit on my 04.

Search forum, this has been discussed before.
The Full Size spare tire will not fit in the under-carriage space due to the rear subframe.

However, it will fit in the trunk lying around unless you strap it down somehow...
