98 v70 xc turbo oil return gaskets and o ring

I'm planning on replacing the gasket and oring on an v70 xc and I was wondering about how long it should take. Generally I have to add on time for dropped parts and trips to the auto parts store. Also - I can not remember in the write-ups a step where the old gasket is cleaned off the mating surfaces. I'm assuming that has to be done since I'm assuming the gasket does not just magically dissolve on the turbo side. If so what is the best way?

3 bolts and 1 nut?
Jacking up the car, put jack stands underneath, put on safety glasses, unbolt those three bolts and 1 nut, use a razor blade on both gasket services..

Maybe 20 - 30 minutes?

Getting ready for the same on my XC90, but that requires pulling the Bevel Gear, don't know if it's the same on a V70XC, mine is estimated three hours. (which means it will take me 5

) And I have two turbos!

I think it is similar to the 90. Turbo above and awd below. If I did a job in 5 hours that called for 3 I'd consider that a win. I usually have to double it.

Yeah I think not, I have not done it on an AWD P80 but I think it is a much more of a PITA job.

The AWD is a bear since you have the transfer case right in the way. You have to do it by feel and it is frustrating.

i had to do it the other day...a long (12") 1/4in extension, and a universal joint on there with the bit at the end. gotta try a few different angles, but its not horrible.

Getting the bolts back in there is more of a blind, feeling around kinda thing.

Thanks Guys. Sounds like it is one of those jobs that I could get lucky and it won't be too bad or I can spend the afternoon cursing. Also seems like it is a lot easier the second time which does no good the first time.
