2002 V70 T5 Air blowing (hard) out of vents with car off

Post by Volvo2112 »

Wow, I've never seen this. Two times, that I know of, I've had my car off, for more than several minutes - as much as 45 minutes or so, and come back to the car - and the blower is on blowing air into the cabin! It's not an engine fan.

???? :o

You need to get your car checked for Aliens ASAP!

What you are observing is the 'afterblow feature' working as intended. By design, the afterblow is supposed to remove residual condensation from the evap coil.
Example of Precision: Measure with a Micrometer, mark it with Chalk, and then cut it with an Axe.

Thanks! Yeah it was surprising. I guess fans don't use a lot of current.

It does draw pretty nicely at max speed since it moves quite bit of air; that's why you've got that big fat battery in there.
Basically, the Swedish Elves got you covered 8)
