1991 940 Starts bad with warm engine

Post by Beidolus »

Hi there,
my 1991 Volvo 940 Turbo often starts only when i step on the gas and hold it for about 10 seconds. Within this 10 seconds the engine runs rough. After this starting with step on gas and holding it for 10 seconds it runs without any problems. Thats mostly happens when the engine is still warm. Like when i was driving for 15 minutes, turn the engine off, want to turn it on 10 minutes later.
I don't really know what to check first.

Investigate the vacuum hose to front of fuel pressure regulator for fuel, or fuel smell. If fuel or fuel smell is present in the hose the FPR diaphram is most likely leaking.
