2002 s80 sputter/rough ride at stop ecm 130a code!!!!

Having the worst luck with my fuel system and my mass air flow meter. I am wondering what this new code is that just popped up yesterday when I went to the Volvo dealership. When I first bought the car used I had the following codes p0171 p0172 p0175. After getting those codes I got some repairs done (pcv box & hoses) and then I got a new code which was p0497. Once I fixed the problems associated with that code (purge value or was it pressure value?? Idr) my car started running better and I felt a little more secure although, I still had the check engine light to come on. So I finally went to the stealership and they tell me there's yet another code which is ECM 130a. their machine is Volvo specific so I could assume that their diagnostic is correct and what it indicates is what they are going to attempt to fix. Also should note here. that i had a battery in my car with absolutely almost NO CHARGE so I bought a new one and that did help some with the rough stop... but i still get a little shake at times. Can a faulty MAF cause my car to ride rough/ hesitate when at a stop? how do i know if the whole system needs overhaul or just a minor tweek somewhere (i.e vac line or changing sensor). when i looked at the price and labor I'm left flabbergasted! I would hate to spend all that money and time ($541.00S and 67 miles) and it only needed cleaning. So now I am looking into making the repairs myself. Any suggestions one might have please please please feel free to forward them on to me. I do understand the concept of how to remove the mass air meter and clean it and I have seen tons of YouTube videos on it. My question is this; are there any other things that I should check and is there anything else that will trip this code. I have a slight exhaust smell in the cabin!
