My S70 has developed some odd popping, clunking, creaking noises when doing tight U-turns. I have tried to pinpoint the noises but cannot seem to find it. About 10k ago I replaced the lower control arms (Hamburg Technic brand, $85 for the pair) which came with swaybar links. I also replaced the upper strut mounts w/ spring seat and bearings (unknown brand, $90 for the set). The rest of the front suspension is stock with 187k miles.
After installing these parts the front end wasn't making any noises. But then overtime it has developed these nasty sounds.
I know it's hard to guess what the issue could be but I was wondering if there are common problem parts to check first.
Also, I would not put it past the LCA's to be shot already. They were dirt cheap and the bolts it came with sheared off within 100 miles of the install.

Tie rod ends?
Go to a vacant parking lot, open the hood and do some tight turns. When it pops, see if the top of the strut moves. An assistant can listen and maybe tell the general area of the noise.
I had el-cheapo strut mounts fail in a short amount of time. FCP replaced them with factory Volvo parts years ago

I recently replaced the CV boots on the left side and the CV joints seems to be good. I cleaned them out and repacked them with grease. This popping was happening before and after this.Ou2mame wrote:Cv joint?
The popping seems to be coming from both sides and only happens when the suspension is loaded. I had jacked up the front end and turned the wheels and wasn't able to recreate the sound. Everything appears tight.

Not ruling out the parts you have replaced in the past, but I was thinking CV joints also. Your other parts tend to make noise as bounce happens, the turning of the car indicates possible joints. I am having the bouncing noise right now and will be replacing those parts that you have mentioned, soon. Check the replaced parts for being loose, as mine on another came loose and did creak some.
