04 XC90 ETM replacement

That's where they live. Need to remove turbo hoses and other components to access it. Don't know yet whether it's easier to access from top or bottom.
Current Volvos:
1998 V70 T5, 112k sat 5 years, still in mechanical coma (finally at the top of the pile )
2004 XC90 T6 AWD: 186k, 60 on transaxle ( traded in )
1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)

ETM replacement on XC90 is same as on S60/V70 5 cylinder. I looked at one today. In your case, follow the hose from the lower LH side of the intercooler, to the intake. There it is. To replace, remove the intake hose, The wire bundle goes behind the starter, may be easier to remove starter to get wires out, then it 's just bolts. Check the ETM room forum for a tutorial, or You tube.

It figures that they require programming. I thought the Bosch ETBs were good to go.
