06- Brakes, winter prep questions

70K on my '06 OR. Well maintained, but I need to do full brakes/ rotors. FCP offers kits, with either Meyle or Brembo rotors. Pads are Akebno (which I have on my other cars and like them). Any preference in rotors? Or other options? Is there any way to know if I have 11" or 12" other than removal of the rotor?
Winter prep. I haven't done anything with the rear transfer case (or bevel gear, not sure the right term). Should I, after 70K, be changing the oil? If so, what kind? Any hints on doing the job?
I did the tranny fluid and will do the brake fluid when I do the brakes. Plan to do the anti-freeze also...but I understand that I must use Volvo anti-freeze and just don't want to spend that cash right now.
