2000 V70R - RH rear brake hard line install?

Post by scot850 »

I will be tackling the brake re-install on the never ending rear sub-frame replacement on my 2000 V70R.

One thing I have found and have no idea where it fits is the plastic clip on the end of the hard line that runs from the LH to RH side of the rear sub-frame. The clip is on the RH end. The pipe wraps around the shaft for the RH jacking point before positioning to connect to the flexi-line. I can find no reference to is or find anywhere obvious it should mount to.

Big favour is I need someone with and AWD P80 to have a look under their car near the rear RH jacking point and see if they can see where the clip attaches to? A picture would be perfect.

The clip looks like this:
Rear brake hard line on RH side
Rear brake hard line on RH side
Rear brake hard line on RH side (2)
Rear brake hard line on RH side (2)
Thanks again,

Neil.

That's really hard to get a pic of, but looks like somehow it attaches to the the subframe. Best pic I could get lying on the ground, if someone else doesn't have it i'm going to be doing my rear brakes tomorrow so maybe can get a better pic.

Thanks for the quick reply. Looks like it may be just 'trapped' between the jacking point and the underside of the car. Maybe the black plastic mount is just there to prevent the pipe from resting on metal on either side. If you get a chance when you are working on your brakes, can you try to see if the pipe can move in the area of the black plastic or if it mounted on something up there. I know there is nothing on either part that has a hole of any sort to connect to.

Appreciate your help!

Hey,

So got back under there with the tire removed and was able to inspect it further. It doesn't have anything holding it down, looks just to be a chafe preventer.

Many thanks, you have confirmed what I was beginning to suspect. Really appreciate you doing this for me. I was really starting to think I had completely lost it as I couldn't find anywhere for the clip to connect to!
