MaxiDiag, EU702, limited functionality?

I have the Maxidiag EU702 and from the beginning I have found that it's usefulness is limited. On all my vehicles I am only able to link up with the OBDII/EOBD menu option. I can read/clear codes and use live data but none of the other modules are accessible. I expected this on the 850's, but on my S70, that is also the only way I can link up even though there are S70 menu specific options.

I see comments on how useful this scanner is to other folks, so I am wondering if there is anything I am missing or can do to improve its usefulness to me. I could not find any support for this product online.

I think the 700 series can read and reset SRS ABS and ECC stuff but you need the software for the Volvo to be updated probably. My 800 certainly does all that stuff

I no longer have the 702, it was stolen from my car at the start of the summer but I liked it. Used it for lice data plus SRS and ABS and TCU and ECU, what else are you wanting it for? Not sure about ECC.

You should try reloading the files. Something there isn't right.

Thanks, I agree something isn't right, but Autel doesn't support this product and I do not have any of the files to re-load. The instruction manual says to update files from their website, but the unit isn't listed on their website (obsolete). I guess I should think about getting something more current but I get by with this for now. Thanks again.

Not sure if it is also true for the EU702, but I bought an Autel MS509 that turned out to be a Chinese clone that you can't load files to. It might be worth running a search online to see if something similar is at play here...

Did it come with the disc to update it?
