Post by JimBee »

Time to top up levels and I need to buy coolant. I've been using the Zerex G05, which tends to be kind of pricey in Twin Cities, MN.
This poster claims there is little difference for his BMW's, so any ethlyn glycol coolant is fine.

O'Reilly's sells one the states "compatible with all other coolants for a lower price than brand names.

Any opinions on this?

You can always get it from amazon, they have it cheaper than any local store I could find.

Well, I decided to loosen up and get the G-05, despite the $18.95 price tag at NAPA. When it rang up at $15.95, I knew that was a sign my decision was right : )

BTW if anybody needs Seafoam, O'Reilly's has it on sale for $7.95. I put a half can into the '93 with the new Quaker State full synthetic oil change. Hopefully, that will clean out the noisy tappet.
