Hi! I love my car (185,000) and have never had a major issue with it until recently. I had been experiencing a high pitched whining sound that would start about one minute after starting it up and run for about 3-4 minutes and then wind down. It almost sounded like a jet engine (though not as loud ). Okay, did they remove the SAS (secondary air system) pump? Do you have a check Engine Light on? The whining noise would have been an air leak. The vacuum lines to/from the air cleaner should be checked out.
