I am looking to replace the front pads and rotors on my wife's 2011 S80. Is there anything special or odd about the procedure that I need to be aware of prior to beginning the job, Special tools or procedures?
Thanks,
Tom

Nothing special, I did this a year or so ago and it's really straightforward. Make sure you 'break in' the new discs as per the mfg instructions or they can warp. Good luck!
Did my XC60 brakes. Only challenge is, ironically, the REAR brakes. Check Youtube videos on how to handle the electric parking brake motor removal and resetting, or you will regret it. You have to remove that motor, and it can be a bear. Also, note, if you're car is like mine, the rear rotors are VENTED, so, wider than unvented. There is a stainless steel shim which should be replaced. The aftermarket brake pads were fine, but the shim they came with was too narrow for vented brakes. I just cleaned up the old ones and reused them.
