2004 C70 Misfire cylinder 2 - make sure you ID cylinder correctly!
Happy Thanksgiving all. I have a 04 C70 with a new head and it was running great. Now runs rough. Recently got a flashing CEL and Misfire cyl 2 code. Just tried replacing plugs, ignition coil, and MAF. No luck. I have ordered a fuel injector to replace the original on #2. Any other suggestions to look at or other things I should consider while I await the injector part arrival from the MVS sponsor? THanks

I had the flashing cell an rough running when an injector went bad. but then it went bad because I tried to check the flow with solvent (bad idea). anyone did play with the injectors recently ? maybe a leaking injector seal when they were removed.

Car was running great for about 2 months or so, since new head. No issues. Then this week just started running rough and flashing CEL with code. I figure I would just put a new injector in since it was original 120,000 miles. This way I only mess around with 1 injector and port instead of 2 injectors moving them around. Got one on sale closeout at IDP for $48 which was a pretty good price. Seems like from the responses so far that I am on the right track.

Yeah, aside from a valve or something mechanical (it doesn't sound like it) it should be either the injector, or the ECM. You could check for the voltage signal at the ECM for the injector. If it's not sending a signal, you have your answer.

Wanted to close this loop. Here's the rest of the story. I changed the "#2" fuel injector, "#2" coil pack, and MAF and did not fix it. Took it to the dealer and they replaced # 2 coil pack and it works fine now. I counted the cylinders from drivers side to passenger side. Come to learn the count starts from the passenger side. Schooled by the dealership for $300. Rookie mistake!

I chased all over electrical and fuel systems for three weeks on my 1999, took it to a Volvo indie who fixed it in 30 seconds with a loose induction hose clamp.
