95 850t Aftermarket Stereo/Starting issues

Post by iruleyounow »

I just recently replaced my stereo with a new kenwood unit and also installed my subwoofers. My car started fine before the new stereo, but now I have to turn the key to the "ON" position, let all the lights turn on, then the car starts right up. If I put the key in, and try to turn it from "OFF" to "START" in one motion the car will just click like a dead battery. If I turn the radio off before I turn the car off, then the next time I go to start it, it turns on right away in one full turn of the key. The Amp I have is only 400w max. Is there anything I can do to make the ignition work normally again? I just bought the battery brand new this past summer. Any suggestions?

When you get into aftermarket stereo stuff you are kind of on your own. I have seen large capacitors as an option for some aftermarket giant subwoofer setups. In theory big capacitors would help provide power for the current inrush to the amp when it gets turned on.
