Removing oil pan from 850 1997

Post by SchuylerB »

I finally got the bolts off the oil pan but power steering lines are in the way. I called a Volvo mechanic and was told lifting engine will clear things so I can get the pan out. Not sure what I need to do to lift engine and don't want to mess up anything. Bending power steering lines did not seem like a good idea. Any help appreciated, thank you!

You will need to stress the power steering lines a bit but you can loosen them up a lot if you remove the front and rear mounting bolts on the lines themselves.
